Role impact:

Oversee complex and high volume of Treasury and cash management functions.


What you will deliver:

  • Manages the Treasury function covering intercompany contributions, distributions, debt principal and interest payments, cash flow monitoring and forecasting involving multiple legal entities and structures; manage banking relationships;
  • Assist in the annual external audit relating to cash balance and banking confirmations
  • Ensure documentation to support transactions and activities is in accordance with company policies and requirements; and
  • Assist in ensuring that key controls over Treasury functions are operating effectively
  • Cash management:
    • Review monthly liquidity forecast and distribution amounts prepared by Treasury Analyst
    • Continuously revamp cash flow forecast models to actively monitor working capital
  • Maintain strong relationship with domestic and international financial institutions; serve as a main point of contact for all treasury related matters between financial institutions and internal business partners
  • Prepare/review flow of funds and wire memoranda in accordance with tax, legal and finance requirements; provide feedback on timing of transactions, follow up until completion
  • Review invoice payments in workflow and approve payments (internal and external) in banking portal
  • Review vendor setup in electronic payment system
  • Oversee opening, closing and modifications to bank accounts; maintain list of bank account inventory
  • Monitor credit facility limits and oversee letter of credit application process
  • Risk management for fraud prevention (cheque fraud protection, bank reconciliations, etc)
  • Other adhoc/special projects to support initiatives in the Finance group and other departments across the company
  • Continuously review Treasury processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Through the provision of regular feedback in the form of status meetings, objective setting sessions, performance appraisals, coaching and counseling, and formal presentations:

  • Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure the timely achievement of department and individual objectives;
  • Provide regular mentoring to staff to encourage on-going professional development;
  • Oversee, develop, and provide training for Treasury Analysts on implementation of changes to policies and procedures.

  • Good working knowledge of legal structures for real estate entities, joint ventures, joint arrangements, partnerships
  • Computer literate with above average knowledge of Yardi, MS Office (MS Excel; Word; PowerPoint)


What you need to succeed:      

  • Minimum 5 years’ Treasury experience in a corporate environment
  • University degree in Finance, Business, or Commerce or related field
  • Accounting designation would be an asset
