Role Impact:


The Senior Manager, Process Design will be a key member of the Finance Transformation Office, supporting the ongoing governance, design/development and maintenance of Finance processes in a centralized, standardized and managed repository. The scope of duties will focus on delivery of Finance Transformation projects, and then on the continuous improvement of (cross-functional) Finance processes. This role will lead process design, improvement and optimization work with Finance and non-Finance teams to identify process change requirements, facilitate (and document) the creation of optimized/lean & digital-first processes in line with transformation and continuous improvement objectives and industry best practices. In addition to process-specific stakeholders, the role will act as a key collaborator with: (i) the Internal Audit Team on control matters affecting process design, and (ii) the Data & Technology department (IT Team) on technical matters affecting process design in relation to financial systems. Lead national, cross-functional stakeholder teams to analyze, design and implement multiple process improvements.


What you will deliver:


Process Analysis & Design/Development and Documentation


  • Understand the domain and its business processes (Finance and Accounting in multiple asset classes of real estate including Retail, Office, Industrial and Residential)
  • Work as a bridge between Finance teams, Non-Finance teams, Internal Audit and D&T Teams
  • Develop, modify and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures and other supporting documentation
  • Collect data on processes, review and analyze the same
  • Encourage, guide and coach operational managers to apply a process lens to managing their teams work and output
  • Support managerial decision making through the modeling of “as-is”, “to-be” and “what-if” process model scenarios
  • Develop process performance metrics to enable a quantitative understanding of process effectiveness and efficiency, supporting the accuracy and transparency of managerial decision making (including supporting the performance evaluation of Key Controls)
  • Identify and analyze process/operational problems and potential resolutions with the right stakeholders and design process solutions accordingly
  • Seek to standardize and unify processes in accordance with Lean principles
  • Design and Develop processes with a systematic “standardize”, “digital first” and “seek to automate” approach
  • Design, develop and provide process solutions to improve Finance operations and Finance service delivery to Finance customers


Process Governance


  • Support the move to process-driven continuous improvement through establishing standards for process governance
  • Create, maintain, and upkeep policies, procedures and practices related to process governance including documentations standards, documentation templates, process change review and approval methods
  • Support the definition and identify the key responsibilities of roles involved in process governance including Process Owners, Process Managers and Control Owners
  • Recommend and implement process governance documentation
  • Provide guidance to Finance staff on how to propose process changes, and how to ensure the right stakeholders are included in process change


Process Implementation Support


  • During the implementation phase of relevant projects, support implementation related activities including but not limited to training and communications materials
  • Support the development and operation of the finance data governance process

What you need to succeed:  


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics or other relevant disciplines
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Passionate about process optimization and change management
  • Project management skills preferred
  • 8+ years of direct transformation-focused process design/optimization/change experience
  • High computer literacy with good working knowledge of Google Workspace, Miro, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Must have demonstrated process design, analytical, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
