Role impact:

The Financial Systems Analyst will be responsible for identifying, selecting, testing and implementing financial systems, processes and applications to drive process improvements and solve business issues and providing support to users of these systems at Head Office, International offices and the Properties.  The role also includes acting as a data steward as part of the Data Governance team and assisting in the design of business intelligence requirements (data & analytics dashboards).


What you will deliver:

  • Lead the selection, testing and implementation of systems and processes, with the IT team, to facilitate financial and operational reporting requirements, identify and execute on process improvement initiatives by exploring technology solutions including the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
  • Design and maintain financial reports through various reporting systems/tools (Yardi, Concur, Tableau, iValua, Axxon, Snowflake)
  • Document workflow processes and recommendations on improvements to increase efficiency of the documentation, testing and reporting process
  • Provide support and act as a data steward with regards to the implementation and ongoing support of the Data Governance program
  • Develop, maintain and support RPA which includes artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Become an expert in AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Job Cost, expense report on-line system, Budgeting & Financial systems in order to support the field in processing day-to-day activities – includes developing and conducting training and refresher sessions
  • Develop queries and reports/analysis for ad hoc queries as well as compile various reports as necessary to support corporate reporting and analysis
  • Review and implement requests for new cost centres, accounts, etc. and changes to reporting
  • Provide analysis for ad hoc requests or queries

What you need to succeed:     

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related field
  • Professional accounting designation such as CPA an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting, reporting or budgeting role or related areas with progressive responsibility
  • Real Estate/Property Management environment a definite asset
  • Strong systems skills including good working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Yardi), and advanced Excel, Word
  • Accounting and real estate background with comprehension of financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and operational analyses including leasing activity, occupancy an asset
  • Knowledge of business intelligence (e.g.Tableau) tools
  • Experience with RPA and artificial intelligence (AI)
