Role Impact

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for working with all levels of management to develop strategic sourcing strategies and provide professional full cycle recruitment support for positions in their assigned client group up to and including job grade H.  This role will also provide general support to the  Human Resources Director on Recruitment, Talent Management and Employee Relations functions in the applicable region.  Please note that CF currently has a vaccination policy that is a condition of employment.


What you will deliver:


  • Support the Talent Acquisition team by providing full life cycle recruitment for roles across the organization including conducting interviews to assess candidates; making hiring recommendations; providing support throughout the recruitment process.
  • Proactively sourcing, qualifying and introducing top, active, and passive talent for current and upcoming positions.  Identify strategies to source critical/hard to fill roles and build a talent pipeline.
  • Develop and implement innovative search strategies for sourcing passive candidates utilizing a variety of resources including, but not limited to, internal postings, employee referrals, job boards, database mining, and search firms.
  • Identify and utilize Social Media (LinkedIn [Recruiter Seat, groups], etc.) to promote open positions.
  • Identify and track key recruitment metrics to provide insights on a semi-annual basis.
  • Partner where applicable with the Hiring Manager, HR Manager, or Total Rewards to update new Job Descriptions for the Applicant Tracking System.
  • As subject matter expert, support Hiring Managers in understanding and effectively utilizing the Applicant Tracking System.  This includes onsite training and ongoing support. 
  • Support maintenance and updates to the ATS. This includes administration and user account management. Work collaboratively with vendor to address system and user issues. Recommend solutions and improvements to the system resulting from system testing and client feedback.
  • Serve as a professional brand ambassador for Cadillac Fairview, promoting our unique Employment Value Proposition and affirming our position in the market as an Employer of Choice.
  • Support the employee referral program to ensure timely bonus payout.
  • Manage administrative support including, but not limited to, supporting the offer letter process, submission of forms, the administration of background checks, liaising with search firms, and arranging temporary work arrangements.
  • Support Recruitment special projects as required.


Performance and Talent Processes

  • Support the Human Resources Director with performance and talent management processes and tools including talent reviews and individual development plans. Scope may include the preparation of talent-related materials, monitoring of action plans, connecting leaders and employees with relevant learning resources;


General Human Resources

  • Support the Human Resources Director with employee relations matters to ensure they are aligned with corporate and/or legislative requirements and are carried out in a consistent, non-discriminatory, reasonable and fair manner. This may include, but is not limited to, promotions, transfers, relocations, investigations, terminations, acquisitions and divestitures;
  • Provide support on the interpretation and administration of human resource programs, policies and procedures;
  • Participate in employee engagement survey initiatives across the region, supporting properties as required;
  • Track key metrics, as required.


What your strengths are:


  • Proven ability to interview and select candidates for a variety of positions;
  • Strong understanding of various provincial employment and human rights legislation is essential;
  • Previous property management and/or client service experience an asset.
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of provincial legislation and statutes, as they pertain to employment issues;
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities with a track record of working collaboratively with others to deliver results;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate complex information in a easy to understand manner;
  • Solid business acumen;
  • Strong organization, prioritization and work management skills;
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced and multi-tasked environment;
  • Ability to adapt and tailor processes and plans to specific client needs;
  • Ability to work in a highly confidential environment;


What you need to succeed:


  • Post-secondary education in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources;
  • Minimum 5 years’ recruitment and Human Resources Generalist experience;
  • Minimum 2 years’ employee relations experience;
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, and Gmail;
  • CRHA or working towards Human Resources designation an asset;
