Role Summary:

The Client Design + Delivery Coordinator (CDDC) will be responsible for working with the Client Design Managers and implementing the Client design direction and standards for both operational and development projects including the Clients on all in-line Retail (interior and exterior), Restaurants, Food Halls, Kiosks, and from time to time, Anchor Stores.  This position will report directly to the respective Manager, Client Design + Delivery per folio.

 

Note: This position reports into Head Office, but is located at CF Pacific Centre, Vancouver, BC.

 

You will:

  • Review and provide comments on client proposals and drawings to ensure high quality for Retail, Food and Kiosk designs for Cadillac Fairview development projects.
  • Introduce to Clients, through the Cadillac Fairview Design Criteria, the Cadillac Fairview level of ambition for retail/food design,
  • Respond to queries from Clients, their designers, and contractors as part of the collaborative design process,
  • Communicate Cadillac Fairview’s  brand and design strategy to Clients.  Provide assistance in Clients’ initial design conceptual stage to better expedite Landlord’s approval process,
  • Review, comment and approve all Client drawing submissions including Schematic, Preliminary and Final Construction Drawings,
  • Collaborate and provide timely assistance to Legal and Leasing teams,
  • Attend property Client tracking meetings to communicate and coordinate project information to all stakeholders,
  • Provide ongoing support and act as on site resource to stakeholders,
  • Promote collaboration and communication both with internal and external clients,
  • Create and or assist with client status report/tracking report updates including plans,
  • Assist Property Operations Manager and General Manager in Client Tracking Meetings and initiate Client Contractor orientation meetings prior to construction start,
  • Administer and direct Schedule C walk-thorough sign-off with property and consultants for all projects prior to Client possession date,
  • Manage Client recoverables and provide tracking and reports to Finance lead (on development projects only),
  • Monitor / manage  Schedule C report updates and on site sign off,
  • Participate in on-site weekly/daily (as required) visits to monitor client construction sites to ensure integrity of the approved store design and minimize deficiencies,
  • Manage Client Package (ie. Design Criteria, LOD,)
  • Manage deficiency site visits and documentation letters to Operations Manager per site for distribution to Clients,
  • Manage correspondence within both operational and development projects to ensure all letters are issued through property via property administration.

 

You have:

  • An undergraduate degree in a 3 or 4 year post-secondary Interior Design/ Architecture Program or other post-secondary education with professional degree from an accredited School of Interior Design/ Architecture or post- secondary education from an accredited college/CEGEP (possess DEC from a minimum 3 year program) with an interior design or architecture designation,  
  • 3-4 years of Interior Design, Architecture or Project Management with a retail and food/restaurant focus. Solid experience in retail store planning would be an asset,
  • ARIDO – intern or greater, OAA intern or greater,
  • Design motivated as well as experience in a client service role,
  • Basic project management skills and knowledge in National Building Codes,
  • Ability to read and understand comprehensive and fully developed construction drawing sets (i.e.: architectural mechanical and electrical plans) and possess a solid knowledge of construction detailing,
  • Knowledgeable of the following programs:  Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), AutoCad, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Sketch-Up, 
  • Ability to communicate ideas through sketching and graphic representation as well as verbally,
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize, 
  • Self-motivated, and ability to take direction from multiple people simultaneously,
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team,
  • Flexibility with hours and ability to travel when required,
  • Experience with construction sites and ability to address on site construction issues,
  • Presentation skills for both internal and external clients, 
  • Ability to influence reason and develop building strong relationship skills with both internal and external clients,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy in problem solving/conflict resolution while being solution oriented and pro-active,
  • Ability to undertake and effectively manage large-scale projects is an asset.
