Role Summary:

To provide dispatch communication to Security Guards regarding incidents, requests for assistance, emergencies, etc., and log details of radio transmission, telephone calls and verbal instructions, and to direct back-up support as necessary. and to provide indirect supervision of security officers.

 

You will:

  • Dispatch Security Guards to incidents, requests for assistance, emergencies, etc.
  • Log details of radio transmission, telephone calls and verbal instructions
  • Direct back-up support as necessary
  • Inform management of major incidents
  • Assist in maintenance of Card Index System
  • Maintain the Camera Surveillance System
  • Conduct security equipment audits
  • Maintain key control, lost and found and emergency contact lists 
  •  Provide training and coaching on an ad-hoc basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

You have:   

  • A valid provincial Security License (if required)
  • A Security Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-4 years experience with a security firm or similar background
  • A minimum of 2 years experience at retail and office mixed use complex
  • A working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act
  • The ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Curent CPR/First Aid certification (asset)
